Stock Market Crash

the COVID-19 Stock Market Crash

On February 26th, 2020, fears surrounding COVID-19’s caused the stock market to plummet.

There are advantages and disadvantages to having such a volatile market. On September 6th, 2018, Elon Musk smoked marijuana with Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience. The market negatively responded, bringing Tesla stock down by 9 percent. The only factor that caused Tesla’s unfortunate plummet in value was the market’s reaction to Musk smoking a joint with Rogan.

Recently … (to be finished later … things happened)

STEM Drive Construction

“The Artificially Intelligent Space, Time, Energy, & Matter Drive”

The STEM Drive is a smart-city AI core. The purpose of the STEM Drive is, at it’s core, to:

  • Increase and prioritize privacy
  • Increase productivity
  • Open access to self-actualization & education for everybody
  • Increase quality across the board (production to personal happiness)
  • Obliterate homelessness and unemployment
  • Massively reduce corruption
  • Obliterate pollution & encourage the need to work within nature’s structure
  • Perfect “capitalism” & resource management/distribution

It turns out, this might actually be easier than it seems.

The three phases of STEM Drive implementation are:

  • AI core development, training, & testing.
A test-bed city for proof of concept.
Facilitation of the necessary paradigm shift & smart-city expansion.

How Does the AI STEM Drive work?

This is actually quite simple in concept. The STEM Drive is a distributed system with an AI centric communications protocol.

The Communications Protocol AKA: Rubik’s Addressing

Obviously, if we’re going to build an entire city around an AI network – security is a huge concern. Thus, security is handled in two ways. First, it’s a distributed network with the fundamental concept of privacy and compartmentalization. This prevents very specific forms of attack from even being possible. The only form of information transmitted between nodes are “regulatory aspect ratios” (this is based on a blockchain-like system) and the communications protocol itself. Rubik’s Addressing (for now, this is just what I’ve code-named it, nothing to do with the mathematics of the Rubik’s Cube) is to AI, what person-to-person recognition is to us. In order for you to be fooled into believing that some impostor standing before you is your best friend – what must be accomplished? Obviously – most likely – nothing technologically available today. What goes into this? Features, build, body movements, expressions, personality, actions, intimate knowledge, etc. To be able to pull something of this magnitude off, you’d need to duplicate that person down to the atom. And, at that point – would it even matter? At that point – would we not have the technology to detect such an impostor anyway? So goes Rubik’s Addressing. The recognition parameters are yet to be determined. However, needless to say, being that deep learning can produce recognition on its own terms to degrees that vastly outperform human capabilities, I am confident that with the correct encryption schemes, multi-vector communications (ie: cable lines, wireless comm, PLC (power line comm), laser comm, and methods of triangulation), the number of parameters we can provide would ensure a nearly impossible system to trick into being fed false information. Granted, overconfidence in security is a dangerous game to play, so security checks and analyses will maintain a standard of excellence as if it were a feeble system.

STEM Distribution Network

Each core performs a similar task. However, every core is not equal. The network is a compartmentalized distribution of multi-tier & multi-stream systems with the capability for backward, forward, and lateral propagation error and stability self-checking. From micro-cores within one’s appliances (ie: cell phones, microwaves, refrigerators, furnaces, air conditioners, laptops, desktops). The job of these micro-cores is to identify fluctuating variables. For instance, the refrigerator catalogs what its contents are and how quickly any one product is consumed, and then it looks for trends over time. Likewise, the furnace catalogs gas usage, and searches for trends over time. Notice that consumption is regulated and measured at the level on which it is consumed. It is not the gas companies job to meter usage in the traditional sense. These micro-cores report their findings to the resident-core. This core is built into the home. The resident-core compares the findings of the micro-cores with possible outside influences. When it thinks it has discovered a unique relationship, it reaches out to surrounding resident-cores to verify the findings. If the finding is verified and tested (a sort of peer-review) then it is added to it’s analysis repertoire. Such a hierarchy proceeds on from single user up through each level of significant human grouping.

The top tier isn’t exactly the “top” tier. It relies on multiple top-tier nodes for stability and security as well as on lower-tier nodes for error checking and stability.

There are multiple streams of networking as well. There are house-hold & consumer streams, education streams, health streams, recreation and entertainment streams, business and production streams, raw material streams, and environmental streams with the capability to incorporate new streams as the system sees fit.

Consumer streams are, of course, from the house-hold on up. This is mainly consumption information. From this, distribution/delivery routes, route timing, waste management routes, parcel pickup routes, and product load calculations are performed to maximize route timing, cargo load calculations (ie: best route for product A delivery vs. product B, etc. Compared to many of today’s practices, the delivery of farmed goods (corn, rice, apples, etc.) are plotted directly from local sources. This removes the wasted time, energy, space, and – sometimes matter, when transporting corn from half-way across the nation to a city with a cornfield next-door. These are silly and wasteful practices that do nothing but hurt us.

Business streams are neither consumer nor distributor. They lay somewhere between. Unique to business and production is the incorporation of agent and agent productivity (ie: employees/workforce). The point here is for people to be happy and productive with what they are doing. Of course, nobody is cross checked against anybody else. What is measured is the person’s capacity and capability.

Production streams and raw material streams are fairly similar in behavior.

The environmental streams are slightly different. This includes sensors distributed throughout the environment. Seismometers, temperature readings, hygrometers, barometers, satellite linkups, sensors to detect pollutants in the air and water – etc. If there’s a sensor for it, there’s a STEM Drive stream for it. This, of course, looks for patterns in consumption, distribution, behavior, and environmental changes as well as a disaster early warning system.

Now, because each tier is only aware of where the numbers are coming from in relation to the tier below – and because each set of numbers is completely anonymous except when necessary, privacy and anonymity is maintained. Users also have the choice to limit what data is anonymous and what is not.

The goal here is to control the flow of resources (space, time, energy, and matter) and the distribution thereof with such precision as to maximize efficiency and minimize loss, without us, the users, feeling like our access to our needs and wants are being limited.

Machine Learning excels at recognizing patterns we are incapable of perceiving. It’s fast and accurate. And if we are to remove the bottleneck money has introduced, yet maintain the freedom and access to progress that capitalism has granted us – the only way to do it is with AI. It regulates the currencies without introducing the resistance and time-consuming self-balancing that money causes.

Within the structure of the AI STEM Drive, each human is afforded the STEM equivalent of a Universal Basic Income. UBI is calculated by what each individual needs to succeed. What do they need to maximize their happiness, education, health, and personal progress. If, at any time, somebody wants to drop out of the workforce at 50 and go back to school for a few years to pick up a new trade, or just to satisfy curiosity, that’s fine. We’ll afford them that luxury because we’re afforded that luxury.

This might seem like a ticked to a crumbling lazy society that won’t work. But I beg to differ. Studies and research suggest, people are far more apt to excel when their needs are taken care of, but not so much so that they are spoiled. We are afforded a UBI, but not a lazy extravagance.

Productivity is always being measured. This isn’t to be confused with a slave-state. The furthest thing from. If a problem arises – and somebody falls out of alignment with their ideal selves, we investigate. What happened? Did they suffer a tragedy? Are they feeling fulfilled? What can we do to help them?

The AI STEM Drive is not here to force people to do anything they don’t want to do. It’s here to facilitate the individual to become their happiest, truest, best self. The only way to do that is to manage resources such that everything is in line with what that is and how it changes throughout any individual’s lifetime.

As far as capitalism goes, the more you are your best you, the more you are afforded to spend. There will be an account for each individual – but no banks. Simply a technical score of how you’re doing. If you’ve gone above and beyond, and your interactions with others show an increase in their well being and productivity – you are afforded that level of acquisition.

Everybody is employed because everybody has something they want to do. When the need arises for a job that nobody wants to do, an APB is put out that asks for solutions and for people who are willing to perform the task until a better solution is found.

Keep in mind, that there is no limit to spending here. Scientific research will never lose funding, and mega-structures are only as far away as the willingness of the community to engage the project.

Under the AI STEM Drive, there is no loss of funding – it’s virtually impossible to run out of funding. That is because funding is predicated on what energy we can extract from the universe around us, and the willingness to engage STEM with any one goal in mind.

The best part is – most of the infrastructure is already here. We simply need to add a few things here and there and alter the way it is used.

The AI STEM Drive is the perfection of humanity, capitalism, efficiency, and creativity. If the STEM Drive doesn’t do it – something else will. This is the closest we can come to being a collective super-organism at this stage in our evolution and technological understanding. To maintain individuality where it counts and tie us all together as a true organism where it counts. You can think of it as functioning with the proficiency and skill of the human body, but each organ has his own personal life too.

Note: during development, much of the technical side of this may change. This is just where I’m starting.

The Color of Money

  • Money is far more scarce than natural resources. The contest for money enables and encourages the need to acquire as much money as possible with the least amount of effort. This push for cheaper and faster in production is often felt by the environment. Cheap and fast methods are often highly toxic and produce chemicals and practices of disposing of those chemicals that damage the environment.
Without money, resources are freely delivered and accepted. There is no contest for acquiring large amounts of money. This turns the production framework from the cheaper and faster practices to artistry. Nothing comes off the line unless they are perfect, green, and good.
  • Produce is often imported and exported to and from extremely remote regions even though such products can be produced in the same regions they are consumed. The need to transport massive amounts of produce comes from the need to sell as much of the product as possible in order to obtain as much money as possible.
Without money as the driving force – most consumed products are produced within a closed local system. This allows for strictly observed energy conservation methods. From the focus on money to the focus on conservation and quality.

  • Money influences many political decisions, both directly and indirectly. Political decisions are based on three major motivators: money, belief, and scientific truth. Removing money allows for scientifically valid decisions to take the majority of political motives. This, in turn, is good for the country.
  • Money drives the directions for which ideas should be engaged. When money is removed, the merit of any one idea becomes the foundational driving force for engaging that idea. The availability of funding and monetary gain no longer hold sway in such decisions.
  • The removal of money removes the influence it has in the legal arena. Laws and political strategies are reoriented toward that which is best for the people.
  • The removal of a monetary economic system would mean that technological, social, and educational advancements rapidly increase due to the following results:
    • Immediate increase in the available labor workforce.
    • Increasingly available resources,
    • The collective drive of the people for progress and advancement.
    • The inner drive of each individual for self actualization.
  • Without money, a new environment that would allow large scale changes to be quickly implemented as scientific findings are verified. The most energy efficient methods of accomplishing any task will be quickly adopted without the possible wall of “is it a lucrative venture?”.

  • New resources become available once money is removed.
    • Workforce and energetic resources are freed from the financial sector.
      • Entire companies solely devoted to finances:
        • Banks
        • Economic Analysts
        • Credit Unions
        • Credit Card Companies
        • IRS
        • Advertising Companies
        • Insurance Companies
        • Stock Marketeers & Market Analysis
        • Fraud Analysts and Fraud Protection Companies
  • Entire positions and resource dedications within all other markets:
    • Cashiers
    • Income and Expense Ledgers
    • Etc.
  • And finally, even the calculative power exercised in adding monetary calculations and transactions is freed up. This may seem small, but consider that the energy heavy elements of any transaction are:
    • 1) The monetary transactions and calculations, and
    • 2) Inventory transaction and calculation.**This means that nearly ⅓ of our entire labor workforce is now free to pursue more progressive and fulfilling professions and engagements. This also means that the energetic resources used in the previous monetary endeavors now become available to use more efficiently. We’re also shaving off nearly ½ of all energy expended during all transactions everywhere.
  • Energy is no longer wasted on such things as: Taxes, financial calculations, financial bookkeeping and other record keeping, settling accounts, money transfers, and the vast loss of energy and product due to credit debt and interest.
  • Interest is a MASSIVE waste of resources. The removal of money and interest will be a vast weight off our proverbial shoulders.
  • Product quality, reliability, and safety become cornerstones of production without the pressures of the bottom line and the drive of greed.
    • Pharmaceutical companies take time and care developing and testing drugs. Only the safest would make it to their market.
  • Massive increase in intrasocial trust. When the drive for money and the drive to avoid the loss of money are removed, a more cohesive intrasocial trust begins to develop. The public begins to build trust in companies and other producers because they know that the previous drives that cause corruption have been neutralized.
  • Poverty is eliminated with the removal of money and the implementation of STEM economics.
  • Products are perfected environmentally, technologically, and artistically before being released.
  • Endeavors that would normally be too costly under a monetary economy, instead are a matter of capacity, practicality, and social ambition. (ie: a generation ship)
  • Personal ethics are no longer crossed or broken due to a need to make ends meet.
  • Resources are allocated according to what is needed and where.
  • Professions become an issue of what one is good at, what they enjoy, and what their passion is instead of what can make the most money that falls within their capacity. This increased productivity and one’s access to self-actualization.
  • The drive for criminal behavior vanishes. When everybody’s basic needs are met, then crime (usually committed due to the lack of a need being met) vanishes.
  • Prisons are no longer profit motivated. Corrections becomes a legitimate venture to correct, not incarcerate.
  • Human society begins to function as the superorganism that it is. Functioning in time with its own rhythms – like any other organism.
  • No more clever deceptions perpetrated by advertising companies.
  • No more wasted resources on cold calling and scam phone calls.

  • With the inclusion of the TU model of education, everybody has access to the highest levels of knowledge and the most professional methods of being taught at any point in their life.
  • Important scientific studies are no longer cut off or go unfinished due to lack of funding.
  • Scientific studies are no longer tampered with for the purpose of monetary gain or pressures.

  • Great ideas in art, literature, etc. no longer go unnoticed and swept under the carpet due to the financial environment not being “in-time” with the work.
  • Have you ever noticed the difference in acting between mainstream movies and indie movies? There is a sense of reality and heartfelt acting that indie movies carry that mainstream movies can’t even come close to replicating. When those involved in the production of a cinematic work of art are driven by money, there is a quality that is lost. WIthout money, the incredible cinematic feats that could be achieved is something we don’t even have access to in our current world.

  • Medicine and medical care become an act of charity and love.
  • People are not denied coverage or treatment because of their financial status.
  • Cures are no longer stifled or held back for monetary gain.
  • Cures are not sold at criminal prices, instead the practice takes the form of a love for each other.

  • Depression and substance abuse will all but disappear due to the new capacity of the society to cultivate personal self-actualization and social-actualization.
  • Bunk supplements and quack cures no longer have a financial driving force behind them.
  • No more unhealthy preservatives or food production practices. The goal becomes health instead of wealth.

  • Many AI’s in use today are sociopathic. They are concerned with money, and only money. Especially the financial sector’s use of AI. The removal of money, and thus the removal of sociopathic AI implementations, will radically reduce the problem of a sociopathic singularity. With a more caring and nurturing AI system such as The AI STEM Drive, the likelihood of a positive singularity experience is increased.

  • Parenting class for all expecting parents. Updates throughout parenthood based on the most up-to-date research.
  • Space exploration programs that massively dwarf what our most elaborate money based initiatives are capable of.
Why go with STEM?

It turns out, our current method of product and service exhange and valuation
needs an upgrade if we are to kick-start post-scarcity and completely disable
the abuse of money.

The AI STEM Drive is the perfection of capitalism. It maintains the positive aspects
of the capitalist society and removes all that nasty sludge that we’ve been
unable to properly deal with so far.

As you’re sure to understand by now; STEM is an accronym for, Space, Time, Energy, and Matter.
These are the fundamental currencies of the universe; Mother Nature’s Dollar.
So – yes – we’ll have to nix currency as we now understand it. But – no – we’re
not obliterating capitalism, we’re just fixing it.

This is actually necessary for the attainment of our previously stated desired outcomes.

10 to15 years ago, after having been personally rattled by several of the below problems, I began dissecting the major hurdles and issues of our world:

  • Why poverty exists?
  • Why a self actualized human is so uncommon?
  • Why corruption exists?
  • Why do people release bad science?
  • What motivates crime?
  • Why do laws exist that are so provably damaging to society?
  • Why do drug companies push bad medicine?
  • Why are we still wasting massive quantities of material and energy?
  • Why are we still polluting our environment in the face of well known and understood research? We know that we have 50 to 100 years at best before our world changes so drastically that most of us won’t survive, yet we continue.
  • Why are we more concerned with the bottom line than with the customers?
  • Why do the workers do all the work, but they only get a fraction of a percentage of the profit made from that work?

Now – before I move on, I would like to highlight that the above mentioned issues are those issues that most of us are aware of. As I investigated more and more into these issues, I discovered a pretty large collection of mostly unnoticed cultural issues.

  • Radical negative shift in productivity at work vs. when working on a hobby.
    • This eventually came to show that people excel when doing what they love. Individuals who are working at a job that they do because either they have to or because it is what makes the most money have a consistently much lower rate of productivity and quality.
  • 4 & 5 hour work days are vastly more productive with a much higher level of quality than 8 hour work days. There are variations of this including 3 & 4 day weeks, etc. It has been shown that working past the initial 4-5 hour limit has an increased incident rate of costly mistakes. Such mistakes are often so costly that it effectively negates the amount of quality and productivity produced in the previous 3 to 4 hours of work.
  • Efficient theories of motivation (specifically The Self-Determination Theory of Motivation) is widely ignored or slow to be adopted in schools, work, and home. Most people have never even heard of them.
  • There is a huge array of time tested, stable, and peer-reviewed research that is just not making it to actualization. Productivity, efficiency, creativity, health, happiness, quality of life – etc. There seems to be a bottleneck somewhere that is keeping effective knowledge from being known, understood, and implemented by the public at large.

As I began to analyze these issues, I found that they all have similar roots; or the are at least heavily related.

In my analysis: greed, the acquisition of wealth, and the fear of losing the stability of regular income plays a significant role in the majority of our world’s largest problems.

In that Money appears to be a common theme, I took a deeper look at just what exactly money is and why so many of these issues seem to be related to it.

Most economists agree that the primary functions of money are:

  1. To provide storage of value.
  2. To provide a medium of exchange.
  3. To act as a unit of account.

That only answers what it provides, not what it is. Money is obviously a symbol. It’s an arbitrary static element onto which we project some value based on the current state of trade and politics. Further, we project rules and properties onto this ethereal device. But what exactly does it represent? What is it supposed to represent? Why is it so easy to abuse?

Let’s tackle the “what” of the matter first. Money is a manifestation, devised by primitive human intelligence and inserted into the natural flow of the elements of reality in an attempt to bypass certain natural undesirable processes and restrictions. Such processes and restrictions include: rot, decomposition, a climate of constantly shifting supply and demand, etc.

But what is it that money is actually hijacking?

When you pull back the curtains, the universe runs the show with four main currencies; Nature’s fundamental mediums of exchange. These are:

  1. Energy
  2. Space
  3. Matter
  4. Time

All of Nature’s “economies” can be reduced to the fundamental eb and flo of energy, space, matter, and time. Money is an ancient and primitive attempt to control the flow of the currencies of reality; to twist and bend it to better suite our needs.

The following series of arguments are an attempt to validate the following points:

  • The three economic arguments for money can be handled with more efficiency and competency than any currently present economic system.
  • That a gentle nudging (based on system analyses) of the natural flow and exchange of space, time, energy, and matter can prove to be orders of magnitudes more efficient and effective than either monetary hijacking or the untouched natural flow.
  • The quarter million year old technology of money is overdue for an upgrade.

*Note: These stories are short allegories and thought experiments meant to accentuate certain aspects of economic realities. I’ve attempted to make the analogies as close to the reality as possible, but I do understand that’s not always possible. That being the case, there may be some attributes I’ve not considered.

The Village

Consider a small tribe living at the foot of a waterfall. The water falls into a pool and makes its way down and passes by the village. Initially, the villagers dug small ditches to reroute some of the flow through gardens and into small dipping pools and bathing pools. As the village stands, there is no money because the village is simply plugged into the natural flow of resource distribution and exchange. One day, one of the village elders rounds up a small crew of workers and constructs a dam at top of the waterfall accompanied by several water reservoirs.

When the villagers complained, the village elder explained this new system:

When they need water, they simply visit the closest reservoir and exchange any combination of a system of coins for the water. There are 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, and 25 gallon coins. In order to obtain these coins, they must first borrow the coins from the water bank under a system of credit. They can exchange coins for favors and work with other villagers.

Before long, there were water banks throughout the village. Transactions begin taking place for every favor and hour of work performed for others. Within a short period of time, 20% of all of the villagers either worked at a bank or engaged is a profession that was directly related to money in some fashion. Theft of water quickly became a problem. Counterfeit coins began to circulate. Inflation reared its head and an unfortunate 1 to 2 percent of the villagers found themselves unable to afford amenities and small comforts.

Here we see that the simple injection of currency into a people immediately put a bottleneck between the villagers and the natural resources.

A second problem that arose was the radical shift of resources necessary just to sustain the system of money. A 20% loss in productivity due to manning banks and accounting firms.

So why does it seem to “work”?

The answer is simple; our planet is rife with energy. Life harnesses this energy and packs it into super explosive and efficient chemical bonds. A two-hour hunt can yield weeks of food and materials. Even if a small rabbit was caught, that’s nearly a 1200% ROI. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll only consider the energy producing food for this next example. A 300 lb. deer would produce (at about 60% edible material) 180 lbs of food. At a fairly decent meal weighing around 600 grams, the yield is about 136 meals. That’s nearly a 14,000% ROI assuming the hunter expended the energy from an entire meal to catch the deer. In reality, we’re looking at a much larger return. The reality is, the true return would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 84,000%.

So far, it seems that money appears to be a vast drain and a waste of resources. So why have we continued to use it? Well, it’s a medium of storage; which, previous to several energy preservation technologies, was a huge issue. Modern tech, however, enables us to freeze, preserve, and store just about everything and anything we want with unbelievable efficiency.

That leaves a unit of account and a medium of exchange left.

Unit of account can be reduced to the unit of measure for any one particular system. This breaks down to simply measuring the exchanges taking place within a natural system.

Medium of exchange is far more skillfully executed by thermodynamics than any form of interference. You can’t cut into a power line and pretend that you’re going to be able to interfere in some way that’s going to benefit the delivery of power. No matter what you do, you’re interference is going to impede the flow of electricity in some manner. The only exceptions would be the injection of energy into the system or to reduce the natural impedance of the power cables. Keep these two concepts in mind.

The Island

A small sea vessel carrying 100 people shipwrecked on an unknown island with no chance of rescue. With survival at the forefront of everything these survivors do, tasks were quickly agreed upon and handled. For the most part, when a task was decided to be a necessity, volunteers were first asked for. When nobody wanted to accept the task, those without tasks agreed to handle it for the good of the whole. Occasionally somebody would fall to the wayside and avoid having to do anything – but this was not common. When it did happen, the individual was asked what they would be willing to do to help. In this manner, most of the people were doing something they wanted to do, and those with a bit more stamina and character handled the tasks that were necessary but not as popular. Eventually a working community settled into place. Everybody worked together as a unified system. The farmers farmed. The hunters hunted. The builders built. The doctors cared for the ill.

The Island illustrates the fact that small, manageable communities do fine without money. We’ve seen this throughout history. Tribes of humans often functioning much like a single super-organism. The question is: at what point in a society’s evolution from heavily intra-tribalistic to mostly inter-tribalistic does money become a requirement. What are the the specific tipping points that cultivate the necessity for monetary exchange?

The City of Automata

In the near future, the world has become ripe with automation. So much so that artificial intelligence has become the driving force behind everything. AI algorithms navigate production, transportation, health, education, etc. The entirety of human life is run by machines; and the entirety of the production workforce are all handled with carefully designed machines. These machines self-replicate at speeds beyond human capability, solve problems on levels vastly superior to anything humans could ever dream of, and care for humans as humans could never do. Obviously in such a culture, the concept of work and money and currency would be ridiculous to even consider.

This is to illustrate the unavoidable future in which money will again be removed.

So it seems, from whence we came – again we shall return. To pose the inherent question at this point: what is it about our journey from a tribal state to a super-automated state requires money in the middle; and how can we lay the stepping stones to put us on the fast track from here to there?

The concept of ideophysical dynamism is an attribute of intelligence that I felt I had to actualize by giving it a name. In naming it an laying out its properties, I was able to make sense of specific concepts which are key to the inherent abuse-ability of money. On the surface this is something we are all well aware of. So much so that it might escape some people as to why I felt the need to name and analyze it. Ideophysical dynamism is the strength of the relationship between an idea and its physical implementation.

For example: to most of us it’s quite obvious that a Calvin & Hobbs-esque cardboard time-machine will not work. Sure it has a flux capacitor drawn on the inside and “Time Machine” scribbled in permanent marker across the front; but it lacks the necessary mechanisms (whatever those are) to be a viable time machine. Thus, it has a very low ideophysical coupling. The idea is not inline with the laws of the physical universe.

You can’t throw a magick symbol on a broomstick and expect it to fly. You can’t draw a doggy on a scrap of paper and expect it to bark. For most of us this shouldn’t be a surprise since we’ve acquainted ourselves with a fair amount of laws of the physical world. Of course, this is why a mechanical engineer can sit down and create an engine that will actually function as expected with minimal trial and error. The engineer’s idea has a very high ideophysical coupling with its physical manifestation.

Now, there are systems that live along various points of the scale. For instance, games. These rules and ideas have some basis in reality; but a lot of them are ideas that the players have all agree to abide by. Because some of the rules are merely agreed upon with zero ideophysical coupling, there is no physical consequence for breaking the rules if you don’t get caught. The rules of the road are similar; but they have a somewhat higher ideophysical coupling because we’ve designed a physical system to work in coordination with the agreed upon rules. Can you run a red light and get away with it? Absolutely, but is there the chance that in doing so, the broken agreement might cause an accident? Absolutely.

So where does money fall on this scale? Well, unfortunately money has a disturbingly low ideophysical coupling. This means that there are virtually zero physical consequences when it comes to breaking the rules. Sure, if you get caught breaking the rules you might have an issue; but even a vast amount of those rules of law themselves have a near zero ideophysical coupling.

So we find ourselves in a world where we’ve hijacked nature’s most brilliantly evolved solution for material and energy interplay with a system that is inherently one of the easiest technologies to abuse and cheat. This is the system upon which we’ve built everything, including our survival.

Money is not the root of all evil. The abuse of money is.

Is it possible to plug back into the flow of nature’s currencies without losing the benefits of capitalism? I believe it is, and this is my plan:

Though Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs has been somewhat debunked to some degree and restructured in light of more current research; the basic truths depicted by MHN stand. That is: we are incapable of performing to our peak capacity if our basic needs are not met. Our best and truest selves lay dormant in a sea of unmet needs. Our entire culture nurtures bad ideas and bad decisions. Though one might feel inclined to be a teacher, they forego their “inner calling” and desire for something they feel will provide a more stable financial foundation for their life. They find themselves unfulfilled as a banker or software developer (as an example).

Most theories of motivation agree on most points. However, for me personally, Self-Determination seems to sum it all up in a much nicer bundle than the others. Aside from theories of motivation, most research agrees that money is an extremely poor motivator. So if money (our current key to survival and “fulfillment”) falls short to motivate, what is it that does motivate us? Self-Determination breaks motivation down into three main necessary requirements for proper motivation.

These are:

  • Competency
    • Having a working knowledge of whatever one is engaging in.
  • Connection
    • Having a sense of social connection with one’s coworkers.
  • Autonomy
    • Having a sense of autonomy over what one is engaged in.

It would seem that designing a platform around these three concepts (but also leaving it open to fairly rapid restructuring in light of future discoveries) instead of a system where money is the end goal would open the door to higher quality in production.

I encourage you to review the accompanying outlines and essays titled; “Money Ain’t Green” and “Non-Currency Based Economies, Theory & Argument”. After which the reader should have a fairly strong grasp of the arguments for the AI STEM Drive.

What is The AI STEM Drive?

To put it simply: The AI STEM Drive is a smart-city AI core.

To put it less simply: The STEM Drive is a distributed artificial learning agent
capable of running on everything from the smallest smart device to the largest
super computer.

The job of the drive’s distributed network of STEM cores is to maximize efficiency
on levels that we are just not capable of producing on our own.

Delivery routes will be balanced, checked against, and coordinated with the distributors
and consumers of every possible modicum of trade.

Understandably, a system like this might raise public concerns of privacy.
However, the following two bullet-points may help answer those concerns:

  • The AI STEM Drive’s complete code-base will be – now and forever –
    GPL 3.0 licensed.
  • Due to the nature of the beast, in order for an AI STEM driven smart-city to
run correctly at peak efficiency, citizen self-regulated privacy is a fundamental
necessity. This will be made apparent as you begin to understand how
    The AI STEM Drive works.

Let’s have a small conversation about truth. There is nothing in this world that can
happen without the truth preceeding it. What that means is that you cannot end
up with 4 without first providing that which will eventually equate to 4.
Obviously 2 + 2 will always = 4. For any one desireable outcome, there is always
a most optimal path to achieve it. We are always discovering new paths that
are more efficient than the older paths we’ve used. This is how progress works.

Using and finding the optimal paths for our goals as a society, is the core
functionality of The AI STEM Drive.

So – what are our desired outcomes?
Well, for the AI STEM Drive, the desired outcomes are as follows:

  • Maximized human wellbeing and happiness. According to the raw science
(you know, that whole thing about truth?),
our happiness is intimately related to our productivity
and progress. This is true both personally and socially.
  • Maximized personal and collective productivity.
  • Maximized efficiency in the use of (get this) Space, Time, Energy, and Matter.
Yes yes – you’re very clever, you just figured out what STEM stands for. 🙂
  • The optimized minimization of waste.
  • Post-scarcity. This means that we are no longer slaves to the fight over

To end this section, as things turn out – correctly using The AI STEM Drive to
achieve these five bullet-points – there is a fun list of side-effects that
just happen to fall into our laps. But we’ll get to those in just a minute.
